Relevant experience to this position includes 2 years as a contract translator of Japanese-English through YKS Services, where I localized comic books for publication in the United States per the client's specifications. I have also worked on contract at Amazon as an Investigations Specialist. I spent two weeks in Sapporo, Japan training a set of new hires on our standard operating procedures and remained point of contact after my return as one of two team members who could speak Japanese, translating emails and interpreting during meetings.

As my focus in school was second language acquisition, as a tutor I would utilize research-proven methods such as target language conversation practice and teaching grammar structures in the order learners tend to acquire them. I will also utilize real-world content (rather than contrived textbook examples) to keep interest high. Lastly, each lesson will include information on modern culture.

Weekdays after 6pm, or weekends before 5pm.
