I’m a Chinese native speaker from Guangzhou, in Guangdong. So for sure, Mandarin and Cantonese are my fluent languages. I have been a teacher for more than 20 years, mainly of history and languages. I'm patient and knowledgeable with efficient, animated and practical learning materials, like Pinyin, Jyetpin, characters, reading, writing, history and culture, etc. Interest is the best teacher. I graduated from a teacher’s college with a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in education. After a 10-year teaching career, I got 2 senior level certificates. One is on high-school history, the other one is on Chinese language.
I participated in the training and internship of "Teaching Chinese by North American Teaching Mode" held by the Confucius Institute at the UMASS, Boston. I successfully had internship in Wayland High School, Boston, MA. and Bayview Elementary School, CA, Portland International school, OR.
Lively activities are always present in my classes: flash cards, tongue twisters, nursery rhymes, calligraphy, riddles, charades, origami, ancient and modern Chinese history and culture. Also, sports, Chinese dance, handcrafts appear after class.
I prefer in the afternoon. But I am flexible, can adapt a schedule with students'.
