Aside from my work experience mostly in Sales, Advertising and a little of bank PR, I spent 6 semesters of teaching Catechism as part of a school requirement rather than as a profession. In addition, I've had 2 years teaching/tutoring as a one-on-one voice coach to students who intended to work in Japan as entertainers.
As a student teaching Catechism, I was trained/taught how to prepare basic/simple lesson plans to be shared with students. As an added feature, I incorporated singing and acting as part of my teaching to keep students interested.
As a voice coach, I stressed so much understanding and feeling the song before any style or technique can be honed.
