Spanish Native speaker, I have been a teacher for 30 years, last seven years teaching English.
I have a masters degree in Education from Lesley College Massachusetts, I have a Montessori degrre from Panamerican Montessori Society, BA in Art History, BA in Architecture
I have been teaching for the last 30 years, I worked at Country Day School for seven years, I had my own Montessori School during 15 years. I taught briefly at the Centro cultural Costarricense Norteameticano. I have been teaching English to children at social risk for the last seven years.
I give individual classes through zoom, and I plan accordingly to my students needs. I started using Cambridge books, but now I have developed my own material in power point presentations. I combine grammar with a lot of reading and conversation. I think learning through reading stories is a very efficient way to learn, I encourage my students to try to express themselves in English from the very beginning. Learning English can really make a difference in a persons life.
I'm available Mondays, Wdnesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Given the actual conditions with the pandemic, I prefer teaching online, but I would be available to teah in other locations in San José, Costa Rica.
