Greetings from beautiful Vancouver BC, where the mountains meet the sea! With 30+ years of teaching internationally at the secondary school and university levels and in global corporate arenas, with specialist degrees in Visual and Fine Arts (Art History Specialist), an Education degree, an ISTC, CTDP, a Masters Delta Certification in ESL/ELL and an IELTS Examiner Certification, I'd be delighted to meet with you to discuss and advise you re your academic goals and career aspirations, to assess your needs for improved English language learning, towards your personal development and/or your career advancement and business ventures. Having learned and spoken French from childhood and throughout my life and very fortunately, having lived and taught Fine Art in Paris, Nice, the Cote d’Azure and Villefranche sur mer - I love all things French, the culture, wine and cuisine and I return often, for more adventures and joie de vivre! I look forward to supporting and working with you to practice and perfect your English or French languages conversational skills, with personalized lessons tailored to YOU, your needs, your goals and your lifestyle!

In consideration of my learner(s), I collect and assess their needs, abilities and their scholastic and/or career goals in a variety of ways, with an in-person. My first and primary concern is my learner’s needs and their goals.
Through a brief meeting with each learner and by reading examples of their writing and listening to and communicating with each learner in natural conversation, along with a needs assessment for them, I am able to gain a greater clarity and focus on their personal English language weaknesses and strengths, affording me with imperative information, before beginning our mutual programme of learning, with my expert support and encouragement.
Then, I plan course content, activities and additional educational resources, to generate more stimulation, challenges, conversation, practice and interaction (ie. video clips, music, activity sheets, individual or group challenges and homework) to best guide and assist my learner(s)... A learner-centered/driven approach is part of my methodology - one of practice and demonstration with my learners, through collaboration, process, progress and productivity, along with my dedicated support and always with a joyful atmosphere of laughter and smiles. A positive, joyful classroom climate, filled with curiosity and challenges, an open-minded and flexible, caring, listening approach has proven best over my 30+ years of teaching, to afford the highest, most profound, productive and deeply memorable learning experience. This is what I strive for in my pedagogical approach to education - with my learner's best interests at heart. I hope you will call upon me to become your private tutor/teacher and eductional advisor!
I'm available Monday to Friday, from 5 to 9 pm.
Online is best for me, but if the learner(s) lives close by, I would be happy to meet them at a mutually acceptable, quiet, local library, community centre, office, cafe or other conducive public space nearby.
