I am a Russian native speaker, and I lived for 10 years in Italy, where I received most of my education and was regularly assumed to be a native speaker by my fellow Italians. I am fluent and able to teach both Italian and Russian. Furthermore, having studied English since I was 3 years old and having lived in Canada for 10 years I became fluent in it as well. Having a strong foundation of these very different languages I can suggest valuable cues on how to overcome any difficulties you may have. Languages are a big passion of mine, I have studied/am studying several other languages (Japanese, French, Portuguese, Spanish) but cannot claim to be fluent yet. I know what is like to be both a beginner and an advanced student. I am friendly and happy to work with people of all ages and backgrounds. Please do not hesitate to contact me!
I hold a Commerce Degree from Uvic and work as an accountant. I can also teach Business English.
Methods would vary according to the need. We can focus on reading, writing, speaking, or listening. However, we could render things more interesting by doing something fun and learning the language at the same time. For instance we could cook an Italian or Russian dish and use the language while doing it! p.s. I am a great chef :)
I play music (guitar and voice), another effective approach could be learning songs in a different language. I can teach you songs in a different language using guitar (if you play that or are curious about learning)
