My native language is English and I use it to communicate with my job as a Cruise Director on European river ships. I am used to dealing with people on a daily basis through verbal communication. I also do Powerpoint lectures pertaining to sites and things of interest that the people will see or visit.
I studied French and Welsh to A level standard. I then embarked on a Higher national Diploma in business studies and finance at Plymouth Polytechnic.
My general line of work has been predominantly in tourism. I have worked as a courier on a campsite, a Tour Manager on European bus tours including Scandinavia and Russia and presently I work as a Cruise director on European river ships looking after a maximum of 160 guests for periods of up to two weeks. I am a people person, hence I enjoy my job and get a satisfaction of happy and satisfied guests after their trip.
Once I have introduced myself to the student , I would ask what subjects they like and what they would like to talk about. I would prefer to do conversational English pertaining to the needs of the learner.
I have put in the below times. for example Monday,Tuesday,Thursday and Friday: 4pm-6pm and on Monday,Tuesday and Thursday 11am-12pm. these times are flexible and I am willing to adapt if this does not work for the student.
