I have been teaching individuals and groups of different nationalities in different locations using different languages for giving instructions. I started teaching when I was at school: first I explained some tough English grammar to my classmates on the way home, then, having studied in the US, back at home I was asked to “spark an interest” in my mom’s friends’ kids; as a freshman at the university I had to make a living by giving lessons and that’s what I still do! Now officially with all the diplomas and certificates and about 20 years of professional experience in place. Even when doing a full-time job at an office for several years, I was still teaching in the evening or at the weekends: teaching makes sense unlike doing small routine tasks which don’t give a sense of completion))) What do you think?

CELTA taught me how to be student-centered, yet I am always ready to provide as much support to the student as necessary. I obviously try to make my lessons more or less fun but a lot depends on how much the student is willing to participate. I believe that a teacher is just a guide (and definitely not a clown) and they cannot move your feet, so it is you who walks the way and improves during this enduring yet exciting journey! I will be more than happy to motivate and push you!)))
