I have over forty years of teaching English and History to students at all age and experience levels. I use the Arts (music, theatre, literature, etc.) to make the learning environment interesting, relevant, and exciting. Classes answer students' questions directly and clearly.
Bachelor of Education (with Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan. CERTESL certification in the teaching of English as a Second Language.
I have over forty years as a classroom teacher specializing in English, English Literature, Essay Writing, Technical English, English as a Second Language, and World/Canadian/American History.
I teach for clarity and understanding using a communicative approach for relevancy. Newspapers and magazines are brought into the classroom to focus and provoke stimulating conversation. Vocabulary building is a part of every session and grammar is reinforced in context for clarity.
I am available Monday to Thursday, 9:00 to 15:00 EST. This is negotiable depending on students' needs.
Online via Teams, Skype, or Zoom. I can arrange in-person classes in the Montreal area at additional cost.
