My name is Dustin. I have been teaching English for over four years now. I taught in Thailand my first year and Vietnam my second and third year. I have since been teaching online.
I have a TEFL certificate, and I am in pursuit of my CELTA. Teaching English is my passion.
I have experience with students of all ages from kindergarten all the way to adult. I enjoy seeing children learn new things every day. It also is fun to meet people from other cultures and different walks of life.
I have different approaches depending on the client's level and age. Usually, I use lots of TPR, props, and gimmicks with little kids. I have five muppets to entertain them and always make them laugh. With preteens and teenagers, I use a lot of one-liners and witty humor to keep them engaged. I'm usually more serious with adults. The more advanced or more mature the student is, the more I allow them to do the talking. I use the 50/50 rule with the low-level younger learners whereas I use the 30/70 rule with the older and higher level ones.
I am very flexible with my schedule. I would prefer to work during the afternoons and early evenings during the weekdays, but I am more than willing to negotiate.
I teach lessons online, and I would like to do them preferably that way on Skype or wherever. I can meet the client in person if needed preferably at their home.
