Russian native speaker with a university degree, PhD (University of Ottawa), seven years of Russian tutoring experience and eight-year experience of teaching Modern Hebrew at universities (Belarusian State University & Language Study Centre at the University of Southampton, UK)
Being a sociologist according to my first degree I have published two books on the sociology of language: both of them are dedicated to the enormous advantages, symbolic and economic profit and new opportunities that you obtain through studying foreign languages.
I am a university language instructor with eight-year experience. Being a high school student I won the Belarusian Republican contest on the Russian language among high school students of the final grade (1995). I am also a professional translator from Hebrew to English and a university Hebrew language instructor having taught Modern Hebrew to three hundred students during my teaching career. I participated in special workshops held by the university of Jerusalem for university instructors of the Modern Hebrew language all over the world. In addition, I can teach basics of Biblical Hebrew.
When teaching Russian, in addition to standard aspects of language study such as grammar, listening, speaking and reading, I give to my students an idea about the culture of the Russian-speaking countries. Special emphasis is made on classical Russian literature texts that my students read in shortened versions. When teaching Hebrew, I often show similarities of the Modern Hebrew language to the Standardized Arabic emphasizing their common origin and specific linguistic features.

Tanya is a wonderful and competent tutor. She is teaching me Biblical Hebrew so that I can read Tanakh in Hebrew. I am so happy to have a teacher like her. Her classes are fun. I will continue my language journey with her for the rest of my life ha ha. I strongly recommend her to be your teacher!
The few lessons I had were great and she was very clear and patient.
Great tutor! I had been learning Hebrew on my own and hit some walls. Tatsiana helped me overcome these walls and improve my Hebrew. She explained the binyanim really well and provided a lot of examples and additional material. Thanks to her tutoring, I felt more comfortable reading menus, panels and such while visiting Israel.
I am a professional singer and Tanya helped me recently to prepare a piece by de Hartmann comprised of musical settings of nine poems by Pushkin. She had to convert some of the text to modern Russian from the language of Pushkin which was modified in 1917. As an instructor, Tanya is always very well prepared and thorough. Her knowledge of Russian is excellent and she has the ability to explain material clearly and precisely in a manner that is suitable when assisting a non Russian speaker. Tanya is willing to go the extra mile for her students. She took the time to support my learning needs with written notes and by making a recording of the poems in Russian. Finally,Tanya is very enjoyable to work with. She has a solid academic background and is very conscientious and professional as a teacher.
I took several months of lessons with Tanya to help prepare for a trip to Russia. Her lessons were very thorough and well prepared, and Tanya herself is an excellent teacher and I thoroughly enjoyed learning with her. If you're looking to start Russian lessons I would very highly recommend her.
