Resident in Canada. Originally from Egypt with Arabic as my first language. A university degree and academic background. Tutor in Arabic language and in Quran recitation and tajweed.
I have a PhD in Demography from London School of Economics in UK. I studied statistics and economics .
I started by teaching elementary school mathematics at the American school . After getting my PhD I started teaching at Cairo university. All of my teaching at the university was in Arabic . I have always taught Arabic and Quran to my Canadian grandchildren.
I prefer giving short presentations and then open discussions and conversations. Learning the alphabets and simple words/ sentences will be for beginners whose parent are keen that they learn Arabic. Conversations can be practised in the Egyptian style as well as classical Arabic according to the student's needs. Higher level students will learn to read common words e.g street signs and directions and watch movies . Those interested in more academic learning will be guided to use different resources to learn how to read and write Arabic such as newspapers and books. Students will receive assignments periodically . Evaluation will be based on students' progress and on class participation.
I have marked my available time. However I am flexible if needed.
Available online through Zoom or any similar app. I live in a condo. I can accomodate up to three students in the morning. Also I can meet at the Public Library.
