I obtained my Celta teaching certificate from Oxford House College, London, in 2005. I have a background in Psychology, both my Bachelors and Masters degrees were obtained from London universities. I obtained my Bsc in 2004 from Goldsmith's college and my Msc from Brunel university.

I am currently teaching English and Dutch as a second language to expats. I teach adults who wish to improve their language skills, for both professional and leisure reasons. The lessons focus on grammar, conversation and vocabulary building. I have been teaching for a long time and have a variety of work experience with adults as well as teenagers and children. I have worked at summer language camps for teenagers, where I taught a rigorous curriculum for a month. The lessons were theme based and we played a lot of language games. I enjoy working in a creative yet structured way, using a book and making my own materials. I find that when students are comfortable they are more open to learning, so I really try to make them feel at home.

I usually work both from a a book and making my own materials. I am currently following the structure of the book and following the themes that the book introduces while making my own materials. I write stories using the vocabulary from the chapters in the book as I find that fun stories help stimulate learning new vocabulary. I also make little quizzes so my students can monitor their own progress. Another thing I like to work with is flashcards. They are a great way to help students remember new vocabulary.
