English native speaker with over 40 years teaching and tutoring experience in English Literature and ESL courses (CEGEP, high school, elementary school, language schools serving corporate clientele). I can also help with preparation and/or editing of essays and other written documents with special focus on organization and correct grammar.

I taught both English Literature and Composition courses, as well as ESL for the last 25 years at a CEGEP, where I also had the opportunity to work at the tutoring centre with individual students. As well, I organized tutorials for small groups as part of a remedial course for international students. I can provide help in all areas of language, from oral practice and presentations to essay writing to reading skills. I bring experience plus a passion for teaching to the time I spend with students, and have tailor made the course of study for each student I work with.
After assessing the needs of my students- whether to help with specific courses or to enhance their speaking, writing, reading comprehension or exam prep.- we work on a course of study to best address their needs. The students I have worked with have done very well in their courses. I have also taught children with mild dyslexia to read, using my own method of phonics.
I offer flexible hours: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday- between 10 and 3; Wednesday and Thursday- between 6 and 8
