English native who has been teaching ESL and TOEFL for more than eight years. I also have experience teaching elementary in a private school. I have tutored TOEFL to about 10 students at their home or mine.
Education / Certificates
I graduated from Cal State Northridge in 2007 with a degree in Liberal Arts/Elementary Education. I also received my TESOL certificate in 2008 from Oxford Seminars.
Professional Experience
I have worked for 4-5 ESL schools in the Los Angeles and Burbank area. I am currently a full-time ESL teacher for a private high school in Los Angeles/Glendale area.
Teaching Approach
I use a variety of methods because all of them is necessary for ESL and/or TOEFL. The grammar method for explaining rules which is important and more like a traditional method. The audio-lingual method for listening skills and comprehension skills. The communicative method for interaction, role-play, idioms, vocabulary, etc.
Availability
I am flexible after 1:00 PM on weekdays and an open schedule on weekends.
