I am a native Italian speaker with over 7 years of experience teaching Italian as a Second Language. Currently, I am a Sessional Instructor at Simon Fraser University (SFU) and the School Administrator and Programme Coordinator at La Scuola - Vancouver Italian Language School. As a CILS Coordinator, I manage the certification process for the official Italian language exam recognized by the Italian government, essential for obtaining Italian citizenship. My expertise spans language instruction, curriculum development, and exam preparation, and I am dedicated to creating engaging learning experiences tailored to my students' needs. Passionate about Italian language and culture, I strive to help learners build confidence and fluency while deepening their appreciation of Italy’s rich heritage. I look forward to guiding you on your Italian language journey!
I hold a Master's degree in International Cooperation and Protection of Human Rights, a Ditals certification to teach Italian as a second language and a CILS certificate to examine students eager to get the B1 certification to obtain Italian citizenship.
Certified CILS examinator
I have a wealth of experience teaching all levels from beginner to advanced as well as other classes such as speaking, listening, grammar, writing, reading, and test preparation courses.
I take an integrated approach to teaching, combining modern language instruction techniques and strategies to tailor the learning experience to each student's needs—even within a group setting. My method ensures that grammar, syntax, phonology, and vocabulary are not taught in isolation but applied in real-life Italian contexts, making learning both practical and engaging.
Beyond language mechanics, I emphasize cultural immersion, as understanding a language goes hand in hand with experiencing its culture. By integrating cultural nuances into lessons, students develop not only strong communicative skills but also a deeper connection to the Italian way of life, enhancing both their fluency and appreciation of the language.
