English and Japanese Language Tutor David from Victoria

Studied abroad during highschool in Fukuoka Japan, completing the Tsuzuki International Exchange Program at Fukuoka Daiichi High School.

Schooling in japan consisted of both extensively studying the Japanese language, completing the JLPT to the second level, as well as tutoring the Eigoka twice a week in prescribed lessons as well as one on one tutoring. Having completed AP english in high school I consider myself to have a thorough understanding and deep appreciation of english as a language. I feel that this comes across effectively, giving students a respect of, and a desire to learn, english.

During english lessons with Japanese students their work books were used to direct learning, questions were answered at length to give a fuller understanding and appreciation of english, and colloquial english was practiced and taught to give students a richer vocabulary in addition to preparing them for "slang" they might encounter. Living in a dorm, Japanese students were encouraged to note any words or sentence structures that did not make sense, allowing for a more fluid comprehension in real time.

My schedule is currently flexible and i can accomadate learner's schedules as need be. I can also make myself available for questions remotely so that students can ask questions as they arise.
