I'm originally from Belarus and am a dual citizen of Belarus and Canada. My father is from Bangladesh. I'm a native speaker of Russian and speak Belarusian and Bengali as well. I also speak French, and some Turkish, Arabic, Hindi and Urdu. I currently split my time between Canada and Turkey. I'd be happy to work with you on any of these languages at an appropriate level. I'm also available for other language-related projects, such as translation.
I have a BA in international relations that I got at Grinnell College in the US, an MA in Islamic studies from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and a PhD in history, also from McGill
I've taught both English and Russian, among other subjects, at university level in Manisa, Turkey
My teaching focuses on conversational practice at introductory levels to build up vocabulary and understanding of grammar. At intermediate and advanced levels I introduce original texts and videos in the target language to help students get into greater depth.
I'm available most days. If you're located in a different time zone from me, don't worry; we can hopefully find a time that can work for both of us.
I can teach in Manisa or İzmir while I'm in Turkey, and in Toronto or the GTA while I'm in Canada. I can also teach you online, wherever you are.
