As a native French speaker and a dual degree student at Sciences Po Paris and UBC, I bring a deep passion for teaching and over two years of tutoring experience. I have extensive experience as a French teacher, having taught at several charitable organizations such as Secours Catholique and Centre Aurore. In these roles, I have led private lessons as well as group lessons (up to 20 students), often managing multiple levels simultaneously, which honed my organizational skills. I also spent a summer tutoring in disadvantaged are with another association, where I developed a deep love for working with people and a strong desire to help others. This experience has strengthened my teaching abilities.
My teaching method is tailored to each student's level, age, and personal goals. At the core of my approach is interaction—I believe that active participation is key to language acquisition. I strive to create a comfortable and encouraging environment where students feel at ease to express themselves in French.
Before starting lessons, I discuss with my students their preferences, what they would like to learn, and which areas they aim to improve. Depending on the student's level, we might focus on reading and analyzing texts, exploring French culture and civilization, or engaging in conversational practice to build fluency. My goal is to adapt each lesson to the unique needs of the student, ensuring that learning is both effective and enjoyable.
