Native U.S. English at the professional/formal and collegiate level. I am a Licensed English - Spanish translator and interpreter, former U.S. Army soldier and have taught English as a Second Language (ESL) and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) since 1984 for Dependents of U.S. Military Service Members and DoD Civilians alike.
BA in Spanish and English.
Since 1984 I have taught ESL/EFL in several colleges and universities in Panama City, Republic of Panama and in Houston, TX, and well as have tutored high school and college students helping them attain better and higher scores in their English tests and exams. Have served as Thesis Counselor for graduating students.
My teaching technique is all inclusive. First, I get the students (SS) to participate actively in every session by opening with an interesting topic about our daily lives and experiences. I use the "hands-on" approach where each day I introduce new words and phrases in order to build SS's vocabulary and give real-life examples of usage to finally have the SS's practice and apply the new learning. I emphasize in speech, pronunciation, intonation and grammar.
