I’ve always been a fan of Stephen Krashen’s “Comprehensible Input” which focuses on the needs of the individual learner and gets the measure of the requirement of the student’s ability. Providing material and input, which is marginally more demanding than their capability, has been proven to be a success strategy. I believe lessons that are friendly, up-beat and enjoyable provide the most rewarding experience for learners and teachers alike.
