Hello, I am accredited with TESL Ontario as an ESL Teacher. I have been tutoring youth and adults virtually for the past year. My previous work career included administrative work in government, business, and the NGO sectors. My expertise is in fundraising. I ran a home daycare for a few years when my child was younger. My hobbies include gardening, cross-country skiing, walking dogs, baking, ceramics, and archery. I am passionate about green home construction and am currently working on a tiny house build.
CTESL, Carleton University 2020

I enjoyed ten years as a host parent for international students staying in Canada to study English. I regularly provided language support in this capacity.
While completing the Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language at Carleton University, I did two practicums.
One was with the University of Mexico in Canada, working with intermediate students. The other was with the Ottawa-Carleton Immigrant Services Organization working with beginners.
I have tutored intermediate-level Chinese language high school students through the Ottawa Chinese Community Service Centre for the past year.
I have been running an English language conversation circle through the Jewish Immigrant Aid Society and providing one-on-one ESL tutoring via Zoom to beginner/intermediate students.
I take the time to assess students, discover their needs, and design a program that will work for them. I am a fan of the task-based approach to language teaching, but I am very flexible.
I have some flexibility in my schedule and will do my best to accommodate students.
Online via Skype, Zoom, or Google Meets. I will do lessons in person, but only outside in the warmer weather.
