I have a TEFL certification from the University of Toronto. My teaching experience includes people from various cultural backgrounds and ages from 12 to 75.
I studied Jazz Studies at Florida Atlantic University in the United States and I have a TEFL certification from the University of Toronto. I have also attended several annual English teacher conferences here in the Dominican Republic. I have a private practice that involves teaching English for different purposes such as conversation classes, TOEFL preparation, IELTS preparation, etc. I also do translating and interpreting work for investors and different businesses/companies that require said services.
I have been teaching English as a second language for 11 years now. I have taught to students from various cultural backgrounds and several age groups ranging between the ages of 12 to 75. I've prepared students for TOEFL and IELTS exams, and I also have experience in teaching intensive and super-intensive courses (immersion programs) for students looking to travel abroad with the intention of looking for work or enrolling in a university.
First and foremost I focus on creating a stress free environment that enables students to take risks by using their knowledge of the language in the classroom. I conform to various approaches when it comes to teaching which will depend on the circumstances presented at the moment or on the lesson plans already provided by the institution. I believe everybody is able to learn and capable of reaching their goals.
I have a very flexible schedule.
I teach remotely from my home via Skype or Zoom due to COVID 19 work restrictions and safety protocols.
