Argentinian by birth, I am an English-Spanish translator, conference interpreter and performance storyteller. I abide by the premise that story is our first language, so my job will be to provide you with every tool you need to tell your story in Spanish: introducing yourself, expressing your vision, making a presentation are different ways of telling your story. Grammar is your ally and so am I. To protect your health and mine, as well as the health of others, I encourage you to opt for online lessons.
B.A. in Legal Translation, Universidad del Salvador, Buenos Aires, Argentina (1994) Diploma in Conference Interpreting, Estudio Lucille Barnes, Buenos Aires, Argentina (1996)
Freelance Translator since 1994. Freelance Conference Interpreter since 1997. Freelance Spanish Instructor since 2003. Freelance Performance Storyteller since 2009.
Our time together will be, in essence, a conversation where you will do much of the talking. I will listen intensely, make helpful comments and take copious notes. Please know that I will not be noting down 'mistakes.' I will be recording conversation threads, gathering samples of language, pinning down ideas and writing down questions that I will not want to forget. Our work will be centred on you, so the more of yourself you bring to the session, the more you will get out of it. At the end, I will usually offer feedback and suggest approaches for the road ahead. Your needs and wants are central to our work, so please have them handy when we first meet: I will be asking for them.
My work schedule is flexible, so it can adapt to yours.
I am located in Lowertown Ottawa, close to Global Affairs Canada.
