Hello! My name is Rachele, I'm an Italian PhD candidate at UofT. Before coming to Canada, I used to tutor students in multiple subjects including languages (Italian, English, and French). I find teaching incredibly rewarding, and I strongly believe in tailoring teaching methods and approaches to my student's needs and learning systems. I'm looking forward to discussing our interest in new languages!
I'm currently in the writing stage of my PhD in Archaeology at University of Toronto. I have a MA in Archaeologies of Asia from University College of London, UK, and a BA in Cultural Heritage from University of Bologna, Italy.
As part of my curriculum at UofT, I have taught and designed modules and teaching materials for multiple classes in a variety of subjects. Prior to coming to Canada I used to provide private language lessons to students of all ages, both to supplement their school curriculum, and to help immigrants with their proficiency in Italian and English.
After a brief assessment of your level of expertise in the selected language, I will develop a program covering basic grammar (if needed) and key terminology based on your interests and needs. We'll go through exercises and practice conversations together, to make sure your grammar, writing, speaking, and listening skills are progressing towards fluency. Lesson plans will be tailored to your needs, both in terms of focusing more on aspects you might struggle with, and to fit your goal in learning the language.
I available during the afternoon, Monday to Friday. Availability on Thursday might vary depending on the week. Preferred time: 1-5pm
I am flexible with method/location. If you prefer meeting online, we can do so on Zoom, Skype, or Microsoft Teams. If you prefer meeting in person, I can meet you at the local library or we can discuss more convenient alternatives according to both our locations.
