Brazilian Portuguese native speaker with more than 15 years of experience teaching English for business, conversation and proficiency tests
I have a BA in International Relations, where I learned dealing with crisis, working in common sense, understanding national and international law and organizing systems. Got a 120hour TEFL certificate. One-month exchange program in Canada in 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010. I took English classes from 1996 to 2005.
I am a fun and easygoing teacher. I have taught over thousands of hours and helped hundreds of students to learn the language and overcome the fear of speaking. For the past 4 years I have been focusing on helping students prepare for proficiency tests. I believe that learning is only easier when the student is comfortable with the teacher and both can enjoy classes. I find it easier teaching adults, but funnier teaching kids and youth. When teaching, I try to use topics and connections that the student can relate to and find it easier to learn. I like using repetitions with new words and/or grammar to help learning.
I focus on helping students recognize their own mistakes and understand it grammarly. With beginners I use props and TPR. Intermediate and advanced I use their own interest to insert the subject and present new content. I like preparing classes accordingly to what students like and how it can be brought to our learning set.
Mondays to Fridays from 5am to 9am and from 6pm to 11pm. Saturdays from 5am to 12pm
I am available for online classes through Zoom. I find it easier to use, lighter to computers and/cellphones and, when required, recording is possible allowing students to recap classes and content.
